Abbey Road Studios is the most famous recording studio in the world and has become a global icon. It was purchased in 1928 by the Gramophone Company, who reconfigured the space into a recording from its previous nine-bedroom house form. The grand opening was on November 12th, 1931 and later that year, the Gramophone Company merged with Columbia Gramophone Company to form Electric and Musical Industries (EMI). The studio became famous for its innovation in recording technology, which was developed by the Record Engineering Development Department (REDD). Their innovations included things like REDD and TG desks, and studio techniques like Artificial Double Tracking (ADT).

Over the years the studio moved on from classical recordings to more broad genres, as to keep up with the changing times throughout the years. In Spring 2017, the newest reopening involved the biggest evolution yet. Abbey Road Studios added two brand new contemporary studios- The Gatehouse and The Front Room. The studio has a very expansive list of equipment with many different selections to choose from.

Abbey Road Studios continues to be the most historic and infamous recording studio in the world.
